Current Role

As ��ݮ��Ƶ’s COO, Stephen is responsible for firm operations and oversees all service line departments, information technology, finance, and innovation and change management. Building on ��ݮ��Ƶ’s entrepreneurial spirit, Stephen supports the firm to accelerate the goals of our clients and associates.

Experience

Stephen began his career at ��ݮ��Ƶ in 1995 and has held various leadership roles in ��ݮ��Ƶ’s assurance and solutions departments, as well as serving on the firm’s board of directors. During his tenure, he has focused his client-facing efforts on the public sector, serving as an auditor, consultant and contracted CFO for a wide array of government and not-for-profit entities. Stephen served as the firm’s director of government audit quality from 2011-2022 and became COO in 2023.

• Stephen’s technical expertise has qualified him to hold highly regarded roles in the industry, such as long-time advisor to the GFOA’s Standing Committee on Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Reporting, and the AICPA’s State and Local Government Expert Panel and Government Audit Quality Center Executive Committee.
• Stephen continuously monitors and responds to changes in the profession to ensure ��ݮ��Ƶ associates, and our clients, have access to national resources and robust training opportunities.
